School Entrance Renovation Project for Zhengzhou No.53 Middle School

After years of continuous use, the original entrance gate of Zhengzhou No.53 Middle School no longer matched the modern image requirements of the campus.

The school planned to upgrade the entrance structure in order to improve the overall visual appearance and create a more modern, unified, and dignified campus entrance.

Henan Jingtian was selected to undertake the steel structure fabrication and entrance facade renovation work for the project.


Construction Challenges

One of the major construction challenges of the project was the installation of large steel columns.

The main structural columns reached approximately 12 meters in height, with cross-sectional dimensions of about 2m × 1.6m.

Because of the large component size and weight, the fabrication, transportation, and lifting process required precise engineering coordination and careful construction planning.

At the same time, the project also involved high-altitude installation work inside an active school environment, requiring strict compliance with construction safety regulations while minimizing interference with school activities.

In addition, the project demanded highly accurate installation quality, including:

  • Steel column verticality
  • Structural alignment
  • Keel flatness
  • Aluminum panel edge finishing

to ensure the final architectural appearance and facade quality.


Steel Structure Fabrication

Henan Jingtian completed detailed structural drawing optimization and node design before production.

The fabrication process included:

  • Structural detailing and connection design
  • Laser cutting of steel tubes
  • Component layout and positioning
  • Structural assembly and welding
  • Weld surface grinding
  • Anti-corrosion coating treatment
  • Supporting keel fabrication

Special structural nodes were individually processed to ensure dimensional precision and installation accuracy.

Throughout the fabrication process, repeated alignment inspections were carried out to guarantee structural stability and facade installation quality.


On-Site Installation Process

To minimize disruption to school teaching activities, the construction work was scheduled during holiday periods.

The large steel column lifting and assembly work was completed by a professional certified installation team to ensure construction safety and lifting precision.

After the primary steel structure installation, the supporting keel system was adjusted and corrected to ensure smooth aluminum panel installation and consistent visual alignment.

Finally, the aluminum cladding installation completed the architectural facade upgrade and significantly enhanced the campus entrance image.


Final Result

After completion, the overall visual height and architectural presence of the school entrance were significantly improved.

The upgraded entrance achieved a more dignified and unified architectural appearance, while the school name display became more visually prominent.

The renovated entrance now better reflects the modern image requirements of contemporary educational facilities and greatly enhances the campus identity.
