EV Charging Station Membrane Canopy Project
To protect outdoor electric vehicle charging stations from long-term sun exposure, rain, and weather damage, the client planned to construct a membrane structure canopy system above the charging area.
The project aimed to improve the durability and operational environment of the charging equipment while creating a modern and clean architectural appearance suitable for new energy infrastructure.
Henan Jingtian was selected to undertake the steel structure fabrication and membrane canopy installation work for the project.
Membrane Structure Design for Charging Stations
Outdoor charging equipment is continuously exposed to sunlight, rainwater, and changing weather conditions.
Therefore, the canopy structure needed to provide:
- Effective sunshade protection
- Rain protection
- Long-term outdoor durability
- Stable structural performance
At the same time, the project also required a lightweight architectural appearance consistent with modern EV charging station design concepts.
The membrane structure solution successfully achieved both functional protection and visual aesthetics.
Steel Structure Fabrication
Henan Jingtian completed the steel structure fabrication according to the finalized engineering drawings.
The project adopted Q235 square steel tubes as the primary supporting material.
The fabrication process included:

- Surface treatment
Strict dimensional control and welding quality management ensured smooth on-site installation and long-term structural stability.
On-Site Installation
Henan Jingtian's installation team completed the on-site structural installation and membrane construction work within 3 days.
The lightweight membrane structure system allowed for efficient assembly and rapid project completion while maintaining construction quality and safety standards.
Final Result
After completion, the membrane canopy successfully improved the weather protection performance of the charging station area.
The structure has now been put into operation and continues to provide reliable sunshade and rain protection for outdoor charging equipment.
